The Cornish Farmer, A study of a Parish and a Family

The Cornish Farmer, A study of a Parish and a Family

I completed this study, "The Cornish Farmer", in 1967. The period I focussed on was 1860-1940, drawing much on interviews I made with older inhabitants and relatives. I looked at it from time to time and at one stage thought about producing it in two parts, the Gorran part and the Whetter part. This did not seem to read so well and the original conception I think may be the correct one, be a valid and interesting contribution. How do you explain the character of Cornwall, its people?
